About My Jewelry

Mary Collecting Sea GlassI have loved the ocean since my childhood days of playing in the sand and searching the shores for treasures. My passion remains today, and there is nothing I enjoy more than spending a day at the beach, looking for sea glass to use in my jewelry.

It is exciting to imagine the history and journey each piece has taken. Maybe it was a bottle thrown into the sea decades ago. Or is it a centuries-old artifact? Maybe it came from a shipwreck. Each piece of glass has a story to tell.

With the use of plastics and recycling, beach glass is becoming more difficult to find. Did you know that because of its increasing rarity, it is said that sea glass is becoming as valuable as precious gems? Just think of it! Something that was tossed into a coastal dump and washed out to sea, or thrown or lost in the ocean and tumbled for years, returns as a rare and valuable gem.

All my jewelry is one of a kind, handmade by myself. I use only genuine sea glass, and enjoy adding pearls, gemstones and Swarovski crystals to my pieces. I work with sterling silver. Some pieces are made with gold vermeil, gold filled wire and chain, and pewter.

Because each piece of sea glass is different, every piece of sea glass jewelry is unique. No two shapes and colors are exactly alike. So your piece is truly one of a kind!

The Message of My Sea Glass Jewelry is a Message of Hope! Your purchase of my sea glass jewelry helps support the Bridge of Hope Foundation, and I want my jewelry to bring a message of hope to those who wear it. As ocean storms and churning waves over time transform and refine discarded and broken glass objects into the beautiful sea glass that we so highly treasure, so can the storms of life we all encounter transform and refine us.
